The member's meeting of NAUTICA ITALIANA – an association affiliated to Fondazione Altagamma representing the excellence of nautical Made-in-Italy as to industry, services and local areas (www.nauticaitaliana.net) – has taken place Friday, December 2nd, at Porto Lotti, La Spezia.
Today, just over a year after its setting-up, NAUTICA ITALIANA consists of 80 business members and therefore is fully representative of the whole sector, both in terms of turnover and along the various sectors: shipyard and new building (37%), refit (11%), accessories and components (23%), services (20%) and marinas (9%).
'Fifteen months ago, September, 1st 2015, a new association – NAUTICA ITALIANA – was founded. Its aim was to guarantee representativeness of Made-in-Italy, to bring together leading businesses in shipbuilding, boats and accessories, services and local areas of our countries' – said Lamberto Tacoli, President of NAUTICA ITALIANA – 'In the last few months we grew very fast, with passion and care in maintaining our spirit and top-quality traits of one of the most creative industries in Italy. In economic terms we represent about 80% value of the Italian shipbuilding compound and about 60% of the overall turnover in the national nautical industry. Today we're more than ever looking to the future with concrete projects and targets, such as the Events schedule we're discussing with the government. I'd like to thank the government for its commitment to promoting the whole industry'.
The meeting determined to organize an international boat event for next spring in order to represent top-of-the-range products, with glamour and an innovative wide-ranging approach. This will give more prominence to the excellence of Made-in-Italy – and not just the yachting excellence – allowing NAUTICA ITALIANA to fully exploit the synergy with Altagamma, a true leader in the creative industry in our country.
The alliance with Fondazione Altagamma is becoming more and more strategical. NAUTICA ITALIANA and the foundation share the same spirit and institutional positioning at the highest level, targets and operational plans. These include progetto Panorama – a project to emotionally promote Made-in-Italy – and the ‘Scuola dei Mestieri’ (School of craftsmanship), a training project aimed at boosting Italian craftsmanship in all the different production sectors and particularly in the boating industry.
A sector analysis called ‘Market monitor’ – the first market analysis of its kind worldwide – was presented on September, 7th at Cannes Yachting Festival. It is the result of the synergy with Altagamma and Deloitte and allows NAUTICA ITALIANA to continue research and data processing concerning the sector on an annual basis.
NAUTICA ITALIANA strengthens its commitment to drawing up a strategic plan for the nautical sector, a national plan to relaunch Italy’s boating industry and tourism, businesses, services and local areas.
The meeting monitored the progress on the Manifesto of Italian nautical sector, a list of legislative and administrative requests to face the industry challenges: adopting a new 'Bollino d'oro' – gold sticker – to be applied on board prior to land controls; establishing an Italian register for boat registration; simplifying the regulatory environment for recreational crafts; adopting a moratorium on on-board controls until the adoption of a telematic register.
This year NAUTICA ITALIANA has supported its members in their national and international activities – Saetec in Carrara, Yare in Viareggio, Montenapoleone Yacht Club, World Superyacht Awards/Boat International hosted in Florence, international boat shows such as Fort Lauderdale and Amsterdam – in order to represent as well and frequently as possible Italian yachting sector and support its members operating abroad.
The growing number of partners across different sectors provides an opportunity to carry out a series of specific strategic plans in favor of the Association members, with a particular focus on accessories/components and Marinas, to support them in their business and global market placement.
