Technology at the service of entertainment and well-being on board

- At the Monaco Yacht Show (25-28 September 2019, stand DS109, DARSE SUD), Videoworks revealed an interesting series of “on board high-tech solutions”

- At the stand, the excellence of the onboard audio systems is highlighted by the innovative Slim Audio Master, the Mover wall with integrated speakers and the interactive Party Pack

- A lighting system that reproduces the circadian rhythm showed how the lighting technology currently available to yacht designers has evolved

-Videoworks is on board an exciting superyacht line-up with name like Columbus Yachts M/Y Dragon – 79,5m,

CRN M/Y 135 – 78,8m, Baglietto M/Y Severin’s – 55m, Riva M/Y Race – 50m,

Extra 130 Alloy 39,8m, Riva 110 M/Y Dolcevita – 33,53m, Cerri Cantieri Navali M/Y Vanadis – 31m

Technological innovation, new audio systems, walls with integrated speakers and circadian rhythm lighting - here is a rich portfolio that enthusiasts discovered in the Videoworks stand during the Monaco Yacht Show 2019.

The purest of pure sounds

The excellence of the audio systems that, on the one hand, deliver pure, high-quality sound reproduction and, on the other, are suitable for an onboard party, has become a crucial aspect of the integration of onboard systems.

In terms of sound management, the Monaco event has been the world première for the SAM, Slim Audio Master, the innovative rack created to optimise size and space-saving on board and to enhance the system's performance.

Jointly designed by the R&D departments of Videoworks and of Leaff and manufactured by the latter company exclusively for the naval sector of Videoworks, SAM controls up to 16 audio outputs and allows to calibrate sound perfectly in every individual setting while guaranteeing space-saving.

The Slim Audio Master can, among other things, equalise sound in every individual environment, optimising sound reproduction.

The SAM system in the Videoworks stand will also manage another new product introduced by the Italian company, i.e. Mover, the aluminium wall with integrated speakers, now offered in a new configuration that allows to reproduce low and medium-high frequency sounds. Mover, produced by the Tuscany-based company Power Soft, was first designed for the world of video gaming and home theatre and can use vibrations to simulate sounds and movement effects. Through the integration with speakers achieved by Videoworks, it can now reveal all the potential of producing sound from different materials.

Party pack, on board entertainment

Videoworks has also thought of entertainment lovers, presenting a real Party Pack that integrates ad hoc systems designed for the world of yachting. Specifically, the audio system has small and elegantly designed K-array speakers and subwoofers that can deliver an excellent performance - their output is up to 110 dB. The sound will be enhanced by a RGB lighting system in the ceiling that will be synchronised with the sound. The Party Pack is completed by a new generation Samsung QLED 98" 8k TV screen.

The sun in a room

The relationship between human beings and nature is one the essential aspects of going to sea, even when sailing on a megayacht. For this reason, Videoworks has built a circadian rhythm lighting system, which provides a perfect reproduction of the temperature and tone of sunlight inside the yacht at every time of the day, from dawn to dusk. This solution increases the well-being of guests on board in a natural way. Visitors will be able to experience the change in sunlight in a few minutes thanks to a special LED-lighting panel made up of 50x50 tiles.

A selection of yachts on display feauting Videoworks audio/video, domotics, entertainment, lighting and network systems

Columbus M/Y Dragon. On the 80-metre yacht by Columbus Yachts (part of the Palumbo Superyachts group), Videoworks has designed the AV, SAT and home automation system. There is a local rack with the AV electronics in every hall. The integrated AV system is managed by a Crestron CPU. The Videoworks interface for iPad makes it as simple as possible for the Owner to use. Cinema lovers will be able to make full use of the VOD Kaleidescape system for the storage and reproduction of UHD contents.

Riva M/Y Race. The 50-metre yacht that inaugurated the SuperYachtsDivision of Riva Yachts holds super-concentrated technology: Videoworks has designed the AV, IT, TV/Sat, CCTV, IP telephony and home automation system. The AV-IT system was designed according to the philosophy of a distributed system - every cabin/hall has a local rack containing the AV electronics. The audio system in the internal and external premium areas has the James Loudspeaker marine speakers. IP telephony is based on a Panasonic switchboard with fixed and cordless terminals.

Thanks to its considerable experience and long-term partnership with LUTRON (a world leading company in the production of light control systems), Videoworks has designed and built the on-board home automation system, i.e. the intelligent control of lights and blinds in the guest area, which makes time on board even more comfortable and pleasant. The CCTV system is made up entirely of professional PANASONIC products. It includes 5 high-resolution IP cameras and a network recorder for recording video flows and archiving them in encrypted form.

Extra 130 alloy. Thanks to the latest-generation Apple TV 4K and Sonos audio system, Videoworks has equipped the 39.7-metre Extra 130 Alloy with everything that makes the experience on board one of a kind.  The Videoworks integration allows users to select the content directly from the Audio/Video iTunes library and then play it on the Apple TV in each cabin. All the Audio/Video contents in iTunes can be managed via Apple TV and no synchronization is required. When the content is recorded, it quickly starts via the Apple iPad mini provided by Videoworks and that is based on the control system of Creston products.

Last, but not least, is the hybrid system with centralized core in one rack and local mini-racks that contain local sources. Videoworks has installed A/V devices in local racks and, where possible, other electronic devices in a Rack-Room. Centralizing all electronic devices in the main racks allows to optimize installation, making it quicker and easier. Additionally, any technical problem can be solved minimizing its impact on life on board.
