Spinlock to demonstrate Rig-Sense tuning tool and debut the Nacra 15 FCS One Single-Handed dinghy at RYA Dinghy Show
Spinlock’s Rig-Sense tuning tool explodes the myth that it is complicated to tune a mast and rig and you can see it in action at this weekend’s RYA Dinghy Show (02 - 03 March 2019) on exhibition stand B80.

As every sailor knows, precise rig set-up is key to performance and being able to repeat favourite rig settings for differing conditions throughout the season is crucial.

Compact, durable and lightweight, Rig-Sense joins Spinlock’s Sense Range of innovative and easy-to-use data measuring tools. Developed to provide sailors with a quick, reliable and repeatable way of measuring and recording rig tension, it ensures your set-up is best suited to wind and wave conditions, sails, crew and preferred mode of sailing before heading out on the water.

Due to its innovative design and use of materials, such as stainless steel for the contact points, Rig-Sense can be taken from boat to boat with users able to share repeatable rig settings. Available in two models for 2-5mm and 5-8mm wire and fibre, it uses a composite leaf spring calibrated to output repeatable tensile load readings to a direct linear scale in kilograms, rather than having to check and calculate loads on a complicated set of tables.

Free Rig-Sense App
Spinlock’s free Rig-Sense App, available for both iOS and Android, lets you work efficiently with your gauge, storing and managing the data on smart phones and tablets. Custom templates can be used to compile data, including images, for a range of boats or classes and differing race conditions, that can be exported for later analysis.

Spinlock CEO Chris Hill comments: “Sailors have become much more interested in measuring and capturing data to learn from their time on the water and help improve long-term performance. Rig-Sense makes it simple and easy to measure rig tension. Now, coupled with the Rig-Sense App, comes the ability to share and export data for later analysis with your team or sharing knowledge within a class.”

Debut for the Nacra 15 FCS One Single-Handed dinghy
Spinlock are also hosting the exciting new Nacra 15 FCS One Single-Handed dinghy which will be debuted at the show. Single-handed sailing is massively popular and the N15 FCS ONE is designed to provide the ultimate in enjoyable, versatile and robust single-handed performance. The sail configuration of this full foiling, single-handed version of Nacra 15 FCS includes a super-efficient deck sweeper main sail, without jib.
