A few days after the exciting victory in the RORC Transatlantic Race, Giovanni Soldini and the crew of Maserati Multi70 are back on the water for a new challenge. This time they will sail around the Lesser Antilles for the 13th edition of the RORC Caribbean 600, a traditional winter event promoted by the Royal Ocean Racing Club.

More than 600 sailors from 30 countries have responded to the call of the 600-mile offshore race around 11 Caribbean islands. They will start from Fort Charlotte, Antigua, on Monday 21 February at 11:00 local time (15:00 UTC, 16:00 in Italy).

In the fleet, among the 11 multihulls entered in the MOCRA class, Maserati Multi70 will once again cross paths with Peter Cunningham's PowerPlay, skippered by Ned Collier Wakefield, and Jason Carroll's Argo with Brian Thompson. Antoine Rabaste and Jacek Siwek will participate with the 80ft Maxi Multi Ultim Emotion 2.

After the RORC Transatlantic Race, Maserati Multi70 has been docked in Guadalupa where the team has repaired the rudder broken after a collision in the Atlantic. The trimaran then put to sea again in Antigua for the final preparations before tackling the race in flying trim.

The RORC Caribbean 600 is a very competitive and fast race, animated by constant changes of wind and full of difficult tactical choices. The course sails north around Barbuda, Nevis, Saba and St Barth, rounding the island of St Martin and heading south to Guadalupa to circumnavigate it and return to the last mark off Barbuda to finish the round trip in Antigua.

Maserati Multi70 is competing in the RORC Caribbean 600 for the fourth time after running the 2017, 2019 and 2020 editions. The regatta's speed record was set by Giovanni Soldini himself in 2019, when Maserati Multi70 crossed the finish line with a time of 1 day, 6 hours and 49 minutes.

The crew that will accompany skipper Giovanni Soldini is made up of 6 expert sailors: Guido Broggi, Vittorio Bissaro, Oliver Herrera Perez, Thomas Joffrin, Francesco Pedol and Matteo Soldini.
