Twelve Southern Wind Yachts on show to grace the Giorgio Armani Superyacht Regatta

26/05/2026 - 20:10 in Sailing boat by Southern Wind

The 20th edition of the Southern Wind Rendezvous & Trophy is about to begin, marking an important milestone for one of the most anticipated events in the Southern Wind calendar.

The event will take place in Porto Cervo, within the Giorgio Armani Superyacht Regatta, which is traditionally organized with excellence by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda (YCCS).

Over the years, the Rendezvous has become a defining moment for the Southern Wind community: a gathering of like-minded owners united by a shared passion for sailing, set in a relaxed, friendly, and family-oriented atmosphere.

Our growing community confirms the success of taking part at Giorgio Armani Superyacht Regatta, which welcomes both performance-driven owners (Racing Fleet) and those who prefer a more relaxed sailing experience (Rendezvous), often with reduced crews and cruising configurations.

This year, 12 SW yachts will assemble on the starting line, ranging from 82 to 108 feet. Each yacht has its own identity, yet all share the same spirit of fair and fun sailing.

Many of the participating SW yachts will have sailed from afar to be here, looking forward to four unforgettable days in the turquoise waters of La Maddalena archipelago.

The Giorgio Armani Superyacht Regatta fleet (18 yachts signed up for this edition) will compete across two classes: SY Blue and SY White.
SY Blue

SW108 Kalantis
This opening season Superyacht Regatta marks her racing debut. Kalantis was delivered in Cape Town in February and then completed an impressive 7,500-mile maiden voyage to the Mediterranean. After being successfully showcased at the Palma Boat Show, she will be at the starting line with a highly competitive, professional race crew on board.

SW108 Gelliceaux
A well-known and proven performer with an impressive track record which includes victories at the St Barths Bucket, Ibiza JoySail, and Superyacht Cup Palma, as well as winning the 2025 SW Trophy, Gelliceaux will face the challenge of her sistership Kalantis for the first time, guaranteeing exciting competition to look forward to.

RP-Nauta 100 Morgana
Morgana returns to the racecourse for the third consecutive year with her well-tested, professional, and highly competitive crew. Her owner has defined her as a true “warrior” and she is known to be a strong contender.

SY White

SW105 Sørvind by Armani
Chartered for the second time by title sponsor Giorgio Armani, Sørvind will present at the start with a competitive rig and a professional crew, including the Olympic sailor Tommaso Chieffi.

SW96 Sorceress
Just in from the Caribbean, where she spent the winter season, Sorceress is back on the racecourse with a renewed racing spirit. Her experienced owners will be on board for the challenge with her sistership Liberty.

SW96 Liberty
A known regular presence on the regatta circuit, Liberty arrives in Porto Cervo with a top-level professional crew headed by Bouwe Bekking. After her victory at last year’s edition of the Ibiza JoySail, Liberty's racing performance has been continuously optimized and we expect her to show up in tip-top shape.

SW94 Magic Blue
Magic Blue revealed herself as a competitive performer last year, securing a well-deserved second place. She is back this season, again sailed by an experienced crew of long-time professional sailors, including Olympian Gold medallist,  Luis Doreste.

SW100 Grillo Parlante
Following a complete refit, Grillo Parlante will show off her new look with a white deck, new teak, and a pristine set of brand-new deck gear. No doubt she is ready for the challenge and aiming for top results.

Rendezvous Class

Four more Southern Wind yachts will take part in the Rendezvous Class, cruising and racing against each other in a spirit of fun and shared enjoyment:

SW82 Grande Orazio
Forever a great ambassador of the Southern Wind Rendezvous, her passionate owner will be on board with his family, without ever leaving ashore the competitive spirit that defines both him and this successful 82-footer.

SW100 Freebird
Volvo Ocean Race veteran Matt Humphries will be leading a clinic program on board, organized by the Southern Wind Sailing Academy. The intent is to offer a unique experience to guests on board, focusing on the balance between performance and enjoyment that comes from sailing aboard a 100-foot superyacht.

SW100 Starfall
Starfall is back after a prolonged Pacific cruise that covered many miles, coastlines, and islands. Her owner and his family will add a spirit of adventure and adventurous open-water sailing experience to the fleet.

SW105 No Rush
With her enthusiastic and experienced lady owner at the helm, No Rush will undoubtedly add a wonderful touch of elegance and personality to an amazing fleet.

Beyond the Race
While crews look forward to the competition on the water, an intense and sought-after program of social events and entertainment will also be offered ashore.

There are high expectations for the Southern Wind Dinner, scheduled for the evening of Wednesday, 27 May.

This year it will take place in the magical venue of Li Capanni in Arzachena, offering stunning views over the Mediterranean Sea.

The following evening, owners and their guests, are invited to attend a refined Dinatoire offered by Giorgio Armani at the renowned, elegant restaurant of the YCCS.

On Friday, 29 May, in the late afternoon, a dedicated Tech Talk is scheduled during which the Southern Wind team will present plans and innovations building on the Shipyard’s current success.

We take this opportunity to express a special thank you to both Yacht Club Costa Smeralda and the title sponsor Giorgio Armani for an event that has proven to be of high value to Southern Wind owners.

We also thank our long-time sponsors, whose continued support is a key element of the event’s success and contributes to making it a true celebration of yachting in all its forms.

A special mention goes to Doyle Sails, main sponsor of the Southern Wind Rendezvous and a long-standing partner.

Our thanks also extend to APM Keels, General Marine, Pantaenius Insurance, and Novamarine for their recurrent support. We are pleased to welcome Harken as an official sponsor for the first time.

Finally, we thank Racing Spirit (SW official uniform partner), Gin Portofino, and AIX Rosé, whose distinctive touches will add flavour to what promises to be an unforgettable edition.
