Nautor Swan today reveals Swan Alloy 44, the largest yacht in Swan’s 60-year history and the beginning of a new lineage of performance-driven aluminium sailing superyachts.
Showcased on the eve of the Monaco Yacht Show, the presentation of the 44-metre yacht follows a record-breaking Rolex Swan Cup in Porto Cervo, where almost 170 owners gathered to celebrate Swan’s 60th anniversary, racing yachts from 28 to 131 feet. Together, these moments express the remarkable breadth of the Swan community—and the ambition for its future.
The Swan Alloy 44 is the most distinctive new product to be launched since Sanlorenzo acquired Nautor Swan in 2024. It marks the Group’s entry into the world of sailing superyachts and the first chapter for its new Alloy line, which will be further complemented by a 50-metre edition and a future ketch model.
Alloy combines Swan’s Finnish heritage, Sanlorenzo’s vision and Italian design culture, and world-class Dutch aluminium expertise—expanding the possibilities of the marque while preserving the identity, elegance and performance pedigree that have defined it for six decades.

Loyal to the Myth
The Swan 65 and the legendary maxi yachts that followed established a lineage defined by performance, seaworthiness and timeless design. The Swan Alloy 44 carries that legacy forward at an entirely new scale.
Its proportions, purpose and character remain unmistakably Swan. Yet its construction and conception open a new world of possibility—translating decades of sailing excellence into a new generation of superyachts.
Three Yacht-Building Cultures. One Swan.
The Swan Alloy 44 brings together the best of three great yacht-building cultures: Swan’s Finnish DNA and uncompromising attention to detail, the Netherlands’ world-leading expertise in aluminium shipbuilding, and Italy’s mastery of yacht construction. It gives owners access to an exceptional concentration of knowledge, craftsmanship and technical capability within one project.
The aluminium hull and deck are constructed by Gouwerok Shipyard in the Netherlands, internationally recognised for advanced aluminium craftsmanship. Here, the yacht’s first structural elements—including its keel and engine-room foundations—are created with the precision required for a high-performance sailing superyacht of this scale.
The yacht is then transferred to Viareggio, at the heart of Italy’s yacht-building industry, for outfitting, commissioning and final delivery. This crucial phase draws on Sanlorenzo’s decades of superyacht-building knowledge, together with its established network of specialist craftspeople, suppliers and technical partners. Combined with Nautor Swan’s exacting standards, it ensures that every detail—from engineering integration to the final finish—reflect the quality expected of the marque.
Advances in engineering and Finite Element Analysis allow every element of the aluminium structure to be precisely optimised, reducing weight while maintaining the strength and structural integrity required for performance at this scale.
Specialist fabrication techniques deliver exceptional accuracy, remarkably fair hull surfaces and significantly less reliance on filler. The result is a structure that is lighter, stronger and more refined, supported by a more considered use of materials.
The Swan Alloy 44 also features rounded base profiles in place of conventional angular transitions. Characteristic of the most advanced Dutch aluminium construction, this demanding technique creates cleaner lines, a superior finish and an exacting foundation for every subsequent stage of the build.
Naval Architecture: A Legacy Built on Performance
Performance is fundamental to the Swan identity. Across six decades, Swan yachts have won round-the-world races and international regattas, while the development of ClubSwan Racing has created one of sailing’s most active and competitive owner communities.
The naval architecture and exterior design of the Swan Alloy 44 are by Malcolm McKeon, renowned for creating advanced sailing superyachts that combine refined living with genuine performance on the water. His vision carries Swan’s competitive spirit into a new category, preserving the iconic marque’s sailing character at unprecedented scale.
Clean proportions, flowing lines and seamlessly integrated glazing create a profile that is powerful yet elegant. Dynamic even at rest, the yacht expresses its performance instinct through its stance, while retaining the understated sophistication that makes a Swan unmistakeable.
As Malcolm McKeon explains: “The opportunity was not simply to design the largest Swan ever built, but to imagine what a true Swan could become at this scale.
“A performance yacht should look fast even when standing still, so every line and proportion has a purpose—communicating capability before the yacht even moves. Aluminium gives us the freedom to explore new possibilities, while the elegance and restraint of the design ensure the result remains unmistakably Swan.”
Interior Design: A Quiet Connection with the Sea
The interiors have been created by Studio Liaigre, the Paris-based design house renowned for its quiet elegance, refined craftsmanship and timeless approach to luxury.
The relationship between inside and outside is fundamental to the design. Expansive windows and fluid transitions draw natural light deep into the interior, maintaining a constant connection with the sea and keeping the experience of sailing at the heart of life onboard.
The Upper Deck is open, generous and effortlessly connected to its surroundings. Spaces for conviviality and quiet contemplation unfold naturally, with every perspective composed to frame the horizon and draw the seascape into the interior.
Below, the atmosphere becomes more intimate. Exceptional materials, tactile surfaces and harmonious proportions create a serene private world, defined by warmth, refinement and simplicity rather than excess.

Dual Energy Technology: Innovation in Service of Sustainability
Sailing already harnesses the natural power of the wind. The Swan Alloy 44 builds on that advantage by generating electrical energy while under sail.
As the yacht moves through the water, its propeller can drive a generator that replenishes the onboard batteries. This reduces reliance on diesel generators during passages and allows more of the yacht’s energy needs to be met using power generated naturally at sea.
The dual-energy system brings together efficient generation, storage and intelligent energy management. It builds on experience gained through Sanlorenzo’s hybrid yacht programme and Nautor Swan projects including the Swan 51, Swan 88 and Swan 128.
Efficiency extends across the yacht, from its hull design and weight optimisation to the integration of its onboard systems and use of materials. Aluminium enables each structure to be precisely engineered while minimising production waste—an important advantage for highly customised, limited-series yachts.

Swan Alloy 44 is currently in construction, with first delivery expected in summer 2028.
