A 400-metre quay in central Barcelona and 25 berths in North Sound, on the island of Virgin Gorda, now belong to the same platform. On 24 September 2026, Mirazur Capital and Marina Port Vell announced that Biras Marina has joined their network of premium marinas. Biras Marina is a superyacht marina in the British Virgin Islands and is part of Biras Creek Resort.
The deal is the first since Mirazur Capital became majority shareholder in Marina Port Vell in June. It marks the start of the platform's international expansion as a management company for premium and superyacht marinas. It is also the first time Marina Port Vell has taken its quality and service standards outside the Mediterranean. The Barcelona marina will apply the operating model it has developed there over recent years to Biras Marina and offer its clients a new destination in the region.
According to the two companies, the move is part of the strategy Mirazur Capital set out after acquiring its majority stake: building a network of marinas in strategic destinations.
"This project is a milestone for Marina Port Vell and a recognition of the work carried out over recent years. Our aim is to bring a proven operational model to Biras Marina, one capable of enhancing the experience of owners, skippers and crews and raising operational and service standards in the Caribbean," said Ignacio Erroz, managing director of Marina Port Vell.
"The addition of Biras Marina to our portfolio represents a major step forward in our growth strategy and creates a highly valuable strategic link between Barcelona and the Caribbean, both for our clients and for the growth of our network," said Marcos Pellejero Ibáñez, Managing Partner at Mirazur Capital.
Biras Marina caters for both short- and long-term stays. It has 25 berths for boats up to 70 metres in length and 20 mooring buoys. Its services include water and electricity supplies, internet access, boat cleaning and catering. The resort around it combines villas, superyacht facilities and dining and hospitality options aimed at the premium market. Besides the Ikigai and The Mangrove restaurants, it has a multi-brand boutique and a helipad.
Mirazur Capital is an alternative asset management firm based in Monaco, with offices in Madrid and Luxembourg. It is regulated by Monaco's Commission de Contrôle des Activités Financières (CCAF). It has over EUR 1 billion in assets under management and invests for institutional and private clients across Private Equity, Real Estate, Public Strategies, Private Credit and Private Wealth. Its direct investments include the acquisition and development of superyacht marinas, with a focus on the Mediterranean.
Marina Port Vell specialises in large yachts. Its superyacht moorings and 400-metre quay allow it to accommodate vessels up to 190 metres in length. It also has sea-view venues for meetings and events.
