Ferrari has announced the completion of the design and construction phase of the Ferrari Hypersail project, marking the transition to a new operational stage focused on system integration and the further development of the performance of the 100-foot flying monohull.

The program now enters a phase dedicated to the installation of technological components, their validation and functional integration, with the aim of further enhancing the yacht’s performance. From the outset, Hypersail has been developed through an open innovation approach, based on the combined contribution of Ferrari’s internal multidisciplinary expertise and its technical partners.

With the completion of this first phase, Giovanni Soldini’s involvement comes to an end. He contributed to the development and construction of the yacht, as well as to the formation of the team, integrating nautical, engineering and design expertise.

Enrico Voltolini

Under the new organizational structure, Enrico Voltolini takes on the role of Project Leader. A naval engineer and sailor with experience in high-performance environments such as the America’s Cup and SailGP, Voltolini has worked alongside Soldini and brings a profile aligned with the requirements of the new development and validation phase.

The project continues to involve key figures already engaged in earlier stages, including Glenn Ashby and Guillaume Verdier, who remain active in the technical development of the yacht.

According to John Elkann, Ferrari Hypersail requires a range of competencies across its different development phases, with Soldini’s contribution considered instrumental in the project’s initial stage.

The project will therefore continue as a research and development platform applied to offshore sailing, with the objective of exploring new frontiers in technology and performance in a highly complex operating environment.
