On Saturday 21 February, Overmarine Group launched the fourth hull of the Mangusta 165 REV at Viareggio. The launching ceremony was attended by the owner and his family, along with the yard team involved in the construction.

Construction and propulsion

The hull is built in composite, a material Overmarine Group has worked with for over forty years. The Mangusta 165 REV is the flagship of the Maxi Open line and reaches a top speed of 35 knots. Propulsion is provided by four Rolls Royce engines of 2,600 HP each, coupled to a Kongsberg Kamewa waterjet system. According to the yard, the optimisation of the hull and propulsion system has achieved a reduction in fuel consumption of approximately 30% compared with the previous series.

Exterior design

The exterior lines were developed through a collaboration between Lobanov Design and the yard's in-house technical team. The project revisits the classic Mangusta open profile with an updated formal language, organising the volumes into large, open spaces featuring full-height glazing intended to maintain visual continuity between the interior and exterior.

Interior and layout

The interiors, customisable as on all Mangusta units, were designed in collaboration between the yard's design team and architect Marcello Pianosi of POM home. The main deck saloon features full-height panoramic glazing and foldable side balconies.

The owner's suite of 92 sq m (990 sq ft), positioned on the main deck and spread across two levels, is integrated into the hull. The yard describes it as a unique feature in the fast vessel segment below 499 GT in terms of size and layout. The lower deck accommodates five guest cabins, including one full-beam VIP cabin.

Forward, a lounge area features sofas, sunbeds and a jacuzzi pool. The sundeck is equipped with a bar area and living zones. Aft, the beach club is designed as a lounge on the water. The side-access garage accommodates a waterjet tender of approximately 6 metres and two personal watercraft.

Destination and use

The fourth hull will operate in the Mediterranean and is available for charter.
