The Ibiza JoySail Superyacht Regatta has initiated procedures for the sixth edition, scheduled from 17 to 20 September 2026 in Ibiza and Formentera. The organizing committee, led by STP Shipyard Palma and Marina Ibiza, has started the yacht selection process.
The event maintains its invitation-only format, with a selection process that unfolds in several phases. The process begins with yachts that participated in previous editions and later extends to new sailing yachts that have expressed interest, in line with the spirit and format of the regatta.
The 2026 edition introduces as new feature the opening to sailing yachts from 80 feet in length, organized into different categories according to design, specifications and sporting expectations. These include the Corinthian category, created for non-professional crews and owners who wish to compete without altering their yacht's cruising configuration and without the need for optimizations or complex technical requirements.
The category structure provides balanced racing for each class, from yachts with a more cruising-oriented focus to higher-performance vessels, while maintaining fairness on the water and the accessible nature of the competition.
Organized by STP Shipyard Palma and Marina Ibiza, Ibiza JoySail is positioned as a regatta that combines on-water competition with a social programme on dry land. Over four days, the sporting programme is complemented by a schedule of onshore activities for owners, crews, families and guests.
Nacho Postigo, Director of Ibiza JoySail, stated that the regatta has grown while staying true to its essence, with a format refined edition after edition to offer a well-structured regatta, with clear categories and an atmosphere where owners, crews and friends can enjoy both sailing and shared time ashore.
Among the characteristic elements of Ibiza JoySail is the Perpetual Trophy, awarded to the yacht that completes the crossing between Mallorca and Ibiza in the shortest time. This challenge has established itself as one of the event's milestones and adds a strategic and sporting dimension that enhances the regatta's appeal on the international superyacht circuit.
The event has support from sponsors such as North Sails, Southern Wind, Mangusta, Super Oh!, Monzó Yacht Painting, Varadero Ibiza, Consell de Ibiza, Repsol and Yacht Moving, in addition to collaboration with Club Náutico de Ibiza and Real Club Náutico de Palma. The regatta is held under the SYRA framework and benefits from technical support from ORC.
With a limited number of entries and an established format, Ibiza JoySail is making headway towards its 2026 edition, maintaining a proposal focused on quality, shared experiences and the enjoyment of sailing in one of the Mediterranean settings.
