With the delivery of the 29-metre sailing yacht High Five, Winch Design completes a project that interprets the yacht not merely as a means of navigation, but as a living space tailored to family life. Built by Fibre Mechanics in the UK and featuring naval architecture by Bill Tripp, High Five is a performance cruising sloop where design, functionality and structural lightness converge in a coherent vision.

The interiors reflect an understated approach, far removed from ostentation, based on natural materials, matte surfaces and a contemporary reinterpretation of classic nautical aesthetics. Leathers, light woods, teak flooring and rope-inspired details create a warm, informal atmosphere in which timber is deliberately left exposed and celebrated.

A defining feature is the integration of the mast into the saloon, wrapped in embossed leather, turning a structural element into a key part of the interior narrative.

At the heart of the yacht lies a generous open-plan lounge with an integrated galley, conceived as a true domestic living area. The layout encourages shared use of space and supports life both under sail and at anchor, with seamless continuity towards the exterior areas.

The aft deck and cockpit are designed to accommodate a wide range of daily activities, from water sports to social moments, reinforcing the concept of a yacht meant to be lived aboard without formality.

The full-beam owner’s suite offers large side windows and a strong sense of openness, while ensuring privacy and comfort. Guest cabins feature modular solutions and individual colour palettes, underlining the flexibility of the layout. The choice to apply high-quality finishes also to crew areas reflects the owner’s desire for a relaxed, cohesive onboard atmosphere.

One of the project’s most relevant technical aspects is the focus on weight reduction. Materials and construction solutions were selected to achieve extremely lightweight interiors, enhancing sailing performance. The yacht’s 2-metre draft further expands its cruising potential, allowing access to shallow anchorages and exclusive natural environments.

High Five ultimately expresses a clear vision: a sailing yacht that blends performance, comfort and emotional value, conceived as a home at sea where design consistently serves the onboard experience.
